LP-SW181621FP provides 16x10/100M ports serving also as 16 x IEEE802.3af Power over Ethernet (PoE) ports for workstation, plus 2 copper 10/100/1000M port and 1 Gigabit SFP port for workgroup and departments. It can supply power to network equipment such as weather-proof IP cameras with windshield wiper and heater, high-performance AP and IP telephone.
Power over Ethernet or PoE describes any of several standardized or ad-hoc systems which pass electrical power along with data on Ethernet cabling. This allows a single cable to provide both data connection and electrical power to devices such as IP phones, wireless access points or IP cameras. It can not only guarantee the well function of the network and avoid the danger of network cabling in the high-voltage condition. Moreover, it greatly reduces the cost.
